Build the leadership pipeline your district needs, starting with your principals and their leadership teams. Texas loses 21% of its principals every year, and replacing one can cost a district up to $75,000. The Educator Collective (TEC), a North Texas nonprofit that develops school leaders and supports the educators on their campuses, is forming 2027 cohorts for two programs built to change that.
Can’t make it on Dec 2? Join us in person instead, on Friday, Dec 11, 9–10:30 AM at the Trinity River Audubon Center in Dallas. The same registration form covers all info sessions, so just choose the date that works for you.
Principal Fellowship
The Principal Fellowship is a one-year, multi-district cohort where principals grow through monthly workshops, coaching and peer collaboration with leaders from across North Texas. Of the principals in our two Fellowship cohorts last year, 92% stayed in their roles.
You may know the Fellowship from its years with the Principal Impact Collaborative (PIC). In August 2025, PIC merged with The Educator Collective, and the Fellowship continues with us. It's the same program principals have trusted since 2016.
At the session, you'll learn:
How the year-long cohort builds stronger, more confident campus leaders through monthly workshops, group coaching in a peer consultancy process led by executive coaches, and a capstone presentation to district stakeholders
What 124+ hours of professional development covers, from strategic leadership and change management to inclusive practices and resilience-building
How to enroll your principals in the 2027 cohort
Middle School Innovation Lab
In the Middle School Innovation Lab, principals and their campus teams spend a year designing, testing and refining a solution to a real problem on their own campus, with TEC coaching along the way. Our first cohort brought together 9 Dallas ISD middle schools, each working on a challenge tied to its own campus and district priorities. As Tiffany Huitt-Powell, Dallas ISD’s Chief of School Leadership, puts it, the Lab brings “additional expertise, tools and support to our campus teams,” with the goal of “creating school cultures where every student can thrive.”
At the session, you'll learn:
How campus teams move through a five-phase design-thinking model: Launch, Design Studios, Deep Dives, Coaching and Showcase
What it's like to learn alongside other middle school principals and teams
How the program is opening to new districts in 2027
Who Should Attend
Superintendents, assistant superintendents, chiefs of schools, HR leaders and any district leader shaping principal or campus leadership strategy for 2027. You're welcome to bring whoever leads principal development in your district or school.
