The first year of teaching comes with its own set of unique challenges, joys, and learning curves. This exclusive new-teacher event hosted by TEC’s Educator Advisory Board will give first-year teachers the opportunity to connect with veteran educators and enjoy a night of food, drinks, and community building.

  • Dallas Kids First - Dallas ISD school board election season has begun. Learn about the candidates and ways to get involved on DKF’s 2020 Elections Page.

  • Leadership ISD - Apply to be a Campus Voices Fellow. Register to attend the 2/29 information session or email melanie@leadershipisd.org to learn more. 

  • Principal Impact Collaborative - School leaders with 2+ years in their role are invited to apply to join PIC’s 2020 Cohort. Applications are due 2/10. Learn more here.

  • Teach for America - TFA is hosting two events open to any DFW educator. Join them on 2/6 for Painting and Policy, and check out their 2/12 visit to Pleasant Grove TAG.

  • Teach Plus - Teachers can apply to attend the 2020 Teach to Lead conferences in Houston (extended deadline for TEC members) and San Antonio (due 9/11/20).

  • Educator Research Interviews - Apply to help Thomas Jefferson High School teacher Erika James complete interviews for research, case studies and blogs for educators.

There is no other time when Black History is more spotlighted, honored and represented in education than during the month of February. David McDonald’s post in The Journal sheds light on the perspective of students, teachers, and people of color, urging and equipping educators with tangible ways to acknowledge and celebrate the richness and beauty of Black History year-round.
